Being a pilot at Jetstar

Your eligibility

The minimum requirements to apply for a pilot position with Jetstar Asia are:

  •  A320 Type Rated and holding an ICAO ATPL
  •  Proficiency check with 6 months validity remaining
  •  Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Multi Engine and Instrument ratings
  •  Have passes in all Singapore ATPL subjects or evidence of passes in all ATPL subjects in home country
  •  Current Class 1 Medical Certificate
  •  At least ICAO Level 4 English Language Proficiency
  •  Hold, or be eligible to hold, relevant Singapore Work Permit.

In addition, Direct Entry First Officer Positions require:

  •  1000 minimum hours of total flying time
  •  500 minimum hours flown in multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft

Direct Entry Senior First Officer

  •  3000 minimum hours of total flying time
  •  500 minimum hours flown in multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft

Direct Entry Captain Positions require:

  •  6000 minimum hours of total flying time
  •  2000 minimum hours flown in multi-crew, multi-engine jet aircraft
  •  1500 hours in command on jet
  •  500 hours’ total time in command on type

Recruitment Process

The selection process involves different stages to measure competency in a few areas. These include an online psychometric assessment, an interview, simulator and psychological assessment conducted in Singapore.

The process can take some time, so it is important to keep your Jetstar application on the website up-to-date with the correct information.

Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to re-apply after a period of twelve months from being informed of the application status.

Do note that if you have been successful in the pilot recruitment process and placed on the active hold file, your application will expire after a period of 12 months. Due to the nature of the industry, we will not be able to guarantee you a position but we will endeavor to place you in a suitable position as soon as we can.
